The current schooner "Cantabria Infinita" was designed in 1980 under the name "Taurus" by Esteban Vicente Jimenez who also took charge of directing the ship's construction, work carried out by a large group of volunteers, according to classic and artisanal techniques of carpenters Lekeitio (Bizkaia) and upon approval naval engineer Sebastian D. Lasa Etxarri Francisco. It was in the shipyard Lekeitio-Isuntza to the edge of the estuary Lea where was completed the boat , three years later.

The launching of the schooner took place on May 15, 1984 with the name "Itsaso-Petronor" counting then sponsored by the oil company namesake. The ship's machinery and electronics were installed in the coming weeks in the estuary of Bilbao, specifically in the missing "Shipyards Celaya" Erandio, by the bridge of Rontegi.

Its original purpose was to carry out the world tour following the route of Juan Sebastian Elcano, counting, for it, with the support of Petronor which, however, left the project a few months of the launch and before the commencement the trip.

Two years later, with the name "Marea Errota" the schooner traveled to the Canary Islands, enclave where he remained until 2005, performing for tourists esxursiones port Blaya Blanca. After that, he went to the port of Santander, where for six years, and with the name of Cantabria Infinita, performs counseling outlets for tourism and the environment.

In April 2013 he changed the bowsprit, the peak and the staysail boom in Oregon pine. Also in 2011 they changed the mast's ratchet and the highest peak. All rigging was renewed and tuning throughout his life.

After a voyage of 11 days (departure date on June 7, 2013), the schooner is moved to San Antonio de Portmany, which is currently moored, ready for all kinds of activities and events under the name of Atyla.
